Why I love Red Meat

If you have followed me for awhile you will know my love of quality red meat.  Red meat is my preferred source of protein it fuels my body like no other food.  I personally love to eat red meat with loads of green vegetables for a balanced meal.  

Facts that make me love red meat:

1. It is dense in Protein, amazing fuel for muscles.

2. Loads of Iron for energy and strong healthy blood cells.

3. Loads of zinc for healthy hormones, beautiful skin and a robust immune system.

4. CoQ0 for improved physical performance, for aiding brain and heart health, for blood sugar regulation, for skin health and to help reduce inflammation.

5. B12 for energy, mood, red blood cell formation and nerve health.

If you love red meat do not be afraid to eat it, red meat gets a bad wrap however not all meat is equal, processed meats are the ones that should be avoided, real meat like steak, chops, mince, roasts, shanks and ribs are the ones to embrace.

  Another top tip if you slow cook meat on the bone you deliver your body some collagen to help aid joint and skin health.  Slow cooking meat is an excellent way to help break the meat down for those whose digestive fire is weak! 

Another top tip for those with weak digestive fire is to stoke that fire 30 minutes before eating by taking an apple cider vinegar or lemon shot.
